Undergraduate Research Assistant

Undergraduate will assist researchers in the Wheat Breeding and Genetics Program at Michigan State University.

This position is with the wheat breeding program at Michigan State University. General working hours will be 8:00am-5:00pm. At times during the season, some work days may extend beyond 5:00pm and some work may be needed during the weekends.The employee will be assisting with: collection of research data, maintaining research plots, harvesting and planting of research plots, setup and maintaining mist irrigation system; greenhouse activities will include - planting, filling pots, watering, harvesting, threshing... Some work will involve off campus travel with a university owned vehicle. This is a full time summer (seasonal) position beginning on May 8th through August 31.

Qualifications

Job Requirements: Valid Drivers license, lift and carry 50 lbs., exposure to dusty environments (wheat dust allergies will be a problem), exposure to inclement weather conditions at times-necessitating suitable clothing and protection from elements (rain gear & hot sunny days). Be reliable, work well with others, and not be dependent on a phone to be able to function during the coarse of work day.
